Pep Guardiola and Jurgen Klopp will meet at the Etihad on Sunday as Manchester City and Liverpool do battle.

There is just one point separating the two sides and the outcome of the match could decide the Premier League title.

It's going to be incredible.

Klopp and Guardiola praise each other before meeting

Ahead of the match, the two managers have been very complimentary of each other despite the high stakes.

Klopp called Guardiola 'the best coach in the world' earlier this week.

"Pep is the best coach in the world," Klopp said. "I think we would all agree on that and it might be a coincidence that it didn't work out in the Champions League so far. If anybody doubts him, I have no idea how that could happen."

Guardiola responded by saying: "Jurgen makes world football a better place to live. His message, he is a huge competitor.

"It's good. I try to have a good relationship with all the managers. I learned it's better not to have a relationship with others. He knows we spoke together in Germany, the message, and the way his teams play.

"He's a good guy and I don't have any problems with him."

While they may be friends off the pitch, you can be certain that emotions will be running high on the touchline at the Etihad.

Guardiola's meltdown at Anfield in 2019

They certainly were back in November 2019 when Liverpool beat City 3-1 at Anfield.

It was a match that saw Liverpool go eight points clear at the top of the table - and saw Guardiola have a complete meltdown.

The Spaniard felt a number of decisions went against his side and was seen screaming 'TWICE' into the air after feeling his side should have had two penalties.

He then sarcastically thanked referee Michael Oliver at full-time.

Klopp and Guardiola met the very next day

Ironically, and rather awkwardly, Klopp and Guardiola met the following day at UEFA’s Elite Club Coaches Forum in Switzerland.

And it led to a rather brilliant exchange between the two managers.

Klopp was given an interview with journalists who asked about Guardiola. Klopp turned around and saw the City boss walking into the room. The German then 'ran away' from his rival as he entered the room.

Brilliant.

We're looking forward to two of the best managers football has ever seen going head-to-head once again on Sunday.
