Iconic manager Neil Warnock has called time on his career after 42-seasons in the game. The infamous Yorkshireman has built up quite the name for himself in English football, after taking charge of more than 1600 professional games and securing eight promotions, both of which are records. Although, for all his achievements on the pitch, it is more his outspoken and rather exuberant personality that has built up his level of notoriety and popularity off it.Nevertheless, he's one of the most well-known football managers in the country. You wouldn't, however, compare him to Pep Guardiola...

Warnock and Guardiola

The two are about as similar as chalk and cheese.

Pep is famous for his tiki-taka approach, elegance and beauty define the way his team's play the game. Every finite detail matters, everything demands precision.

On the other hand, Warnock has always been about old fashioned grit and desire, route-one football predominantly, stick a big number nine up top and whip them crosses in.

Not that there is anything wrong with that, he's enjoyed a bucket load of success over the years playing that way, but it just goes to show how different they are.

Or are they...

A hilarious video has re-emerged that previously went viral: "Guardiola vs Warnock- Differing Philosophies, Same Inspiration", which showcases clips from both men's career as a manager.

It truly is brilliant viewing. In terms of style, the two are world's apart in how they speak to their players and handle each situation.

But as suggested in the title, everything is done for the same purpose - An innate desire to compete and more importantly, win, football matches.

Our best bits

Guardiola: " Please protect the players, is all I ask to all the referees around the world, especially in England. Protect the players."

Warnock: "Let's get f***** leathered in and do not shirk a f***** tackle!"

Guardiola: "You need to use the sides to create space in the middle."

Warnock: "Every time it's in their half and you're on half-way line havin a fag..."

Guardiola: "Guys, enjoy it! No, believe me guys. Come on."

Warnock: "By all means enjoy it, but enjoy it by being f***** disciplined."

And our personal favourite...

Guardiola: "Guys, guys you have to learn to play football with courage."

Warnock: "That's a load of bol**cks, you've gotta f****** die to get three points!"

Incredible. Love him or hate him, what a character Warnock is.

Happy retirement to a legend of the game, let's get a full minute of booing arranged at every ground in the country in his honour next weekend. You know he would relish it.
