Gunther made his WWE main roster debut last week on the SmackDown after WrestleMania show. The big Austrian looked incredible during the match, and was showcased to look like a real threat in his squash match. However, it wasn't the former WALTER's performance in the match that really caught the attention of fans. Fans were very quick to point out just how much weight the 34-year-old has lost, and how great he looks now.Especially when compared to the beginning of his WWE run in 2019, Gunther has lost a considerable amount of weight, and now looks in brilliant shape. In fact, as can be seen by the side-by-side comparison below, Gunther looks like half the person he was previously.

It seems like there is a reason Gunther has said so much weight, at least if reports are to be believed.

Dave Meltzer noted on the latest Wrestling Observer Radio that Vince McMahon asked the former NXT UK Champion to lose weight.

And Gunther did just that, getting himself into ridiculous shape for his main roster debut last week.

I know he was told (to lose weight), and he listened... Vince wants slim people on TV

Interestingly, Meltzer explains that other people within WWE were asked to lose weight, and didn't, feeling as if they benefited from being bigger:

Unlike other people who thought that being big was really good and were told and didn’t listen, and now are somewhere else

Gunther didn't arrive on the main roster alone, and was partnered by Ludwig Kaiser, who was formerly known as Marcel Barthel on NXT.

The pair were in Imperium together, along with Fabian Aichner, but the call was made to leave the Italian in NXT and not bring him up to the main roster.

From the way the act was presented on SmackDown, it seems like Gunther is very much going to be the focus of the group, which fans will appreciate.
