Manchester City and Liverpool shared the spoils in a thoroughly entertaining clash at the Etihad Stadium on Sunday afternoon.

The game had huge implications with the two sides separated by just one point at the top of the table.

City took the lead twice but Liverpool pegged them back on both occasions as they drew 2-2.

City and Liverpool are arguably the world's best two teams and have been battling each other for majors honours for many years now.

But, despite them being such big rivals, the respect between the two teams is plain to see.

Pep Guardiola and Jurgen Klopp sung each other's praises in the build-up to the game and their admiration for each other was on full display on Sunday.

Despite such an intense match, both managers had a beaming smile on their face and shared a warm handshake and embrace at the final whistle.

Guardiola also showed his admiration for Virgil van Dijk after the final whistle.

A short clip has emerged of the two sharing a wholesome moment just before the Liverpool man spoke to the media.

Guardiola's respect for the defender was plain to see and he gave him a playful slap before walking off.

It's unknown what they were talking about Guardiola appeared to say: 'You know what you did'. Van Dijk then replies: 'I know. I'll speak to him later.'
