The first woman to challenge Bianca Belair for the Raw Women's Championship has been confirmed.

In a surprise turn of events, WWE official Sonya Deville signed herself up for a title match against the newly crowned red brand champion.

The Monday Night Raw crowd was left stunned when Deville launched an attack on The EST of WWE, before announcing the two of them would meet inside the ring to challenge for the Championship.

This isn't the first time Deville has abused her position of power.

Usually active on SmackDown, she stirred up a storm of problems for Naomi, depriving her of match opportunities after recently being drafted to the blue brand.

Deville also made an in-ring comeback at the Royal Rumble, where she appeared in the 30-woman match after calling herself up.

Ronda Rousey was another Superstar to make a return at the pay-per-view, and Deville followed up just weeks later by attempting to suspend Rowdy and fine her $100,000.

Fellow WWE official Adam Pearce intervened and delivered a message from Vince McMahon, who declined Deville's attempts and warned her about abusing her position of power.

However, despite the warning shot fired from the chairman earlier this year, Deville is once again up to her old tricks.

She initially teased the idea of Belair facing a mystery opponent for her first title defence match as Raw women's champion.

"You have Big Time Becky Lynch, who I'm sure would love a rematch against you," Deville started. "You have former champions Rhea Ripley and Carmella. You have Alexa Bliss, Liv Morgan, Doudrop, Dana Brooke — listen, the point is, the options are endless for you."

Belair signed the contract and Deville revealed she would be bringing out her opponent before launching an attack on The EST from behind.

"Your next opponent is me," she declared before signing the contract and posing with Belair's belt.

Later in the show, Pearce confronted Deville, who stated she had every intention of carrying out the match and becoming the first official to make WWE history by winning the title.

A date is yet to be confirmed for when the two women will face each other inside the ring.
