Miami Dolphins quarterback Tua Tagovailoa was left feeling rather starstruck during a chance encounter with Hall of Fame quarterback Dan Marino.

It’s fair to say that everyone will have their own reaction whenever they meet a famous person, and let’s face it, when it comes to the history of the Miami Dolphins there’s nobody more famous than Marino.

Some might get nervous, some might take it in their stride, and then there’s what Tua did, which kind of sat somewhere in the middle.

The 24-year-old quarterback, a native of Hawaii, was holding his second annual ‘Luau with Tua’, a charity event to benefit the Tua Foundation, Big Brother Big Sisters of Miami, and Big Brother Big Sisters of Broward County.

The event appears to have been an all-ticket affair - after all you can’t have people turning up for free at a charity event - but Marino apparently didn’t get that message as he turned up uninvited, which took Tua slightly by surprise as he noticed him whilst speaking to the media during the jubilations.

Watch: Tua spots Marino

‘’See Dan Marino… Dan… You don’t even gotta invite Dan, Dan just walked in,” Tua says, before he spots the 9x Pro Bowler.

“Oh my gosh, that’s Dan Marino!,” the fifth-overall pick in the 2020 draft says as he extends a wave Marino’s way.

The Dolphins legend then dived full on into the event, putting on a traditional Lei made from flowers, with the two quarterbacks then posing for a few pictures together, bringing Dolphins past and Dolphins future together.

Starstruck Tua

Marino racked up some pretty impressive numbers during his time with South Florida, and it’s going to take some effort from Tua to even get close to matching what Marino achieved, but if he does, then maybe it will be him that gets starstruck by Tua at some point in the future.

Especially if he can bring the Super Bowl that the Hall of Famer never did to Miami.
