Arsenal: Rio Ferdinand's gold reaction to Kieran Richardson's Premier League title prediction

Arsenal are enjoying a decent season.

The Gunners have made considerable improvement under Mikel Arteta and are battling it out with Tottenham for the fourth and final Premier League spot.

However, despite the strides they have made this season, Arsenal are still miles off the best sides in the Premier League.

Arsenal are currently 20 points behind Manchester City, although they do have a game-in-hand.

The north London side were last crowned English champions in 2004 will have to keep continuing at a rapid rate if they are to end their drought.

But one man that doesn’t see that happening any time soon is Kieran Richardson.

Richardson, an Arsenal fan, appeared on Rio Ferdinand’s Vibe with FIVE podcast recently.

The panel, consisting of Richardson, Ferdinand, Joel Beya and Stephen Howson, were discussing how far away Arsenal and Man United are from winning the Premier League title.

Richardson admitted that it will be another 30 years before Arsenal end their drought.

He said: “We need to be realistic now. We’ve got our young players, we’re thinking long-term. We’re miles off it. We’re 30 years off it!”

Ferdinand couldn’t believe what he was hearing.

He burst out laughing and said in disbelief: “30 years off it? He said ’30 years off it!” The clip is gold and you can view it below…

Richardson is then asked who he thinks will win the league first: Arsenal or Man Utd.

The former England midfielder didn’t come to an but suggested that Arsenal are closer at the moment.

He said: “It’s a hard one. We have the foundations. We have the young players. Man United haven’t even got that.”

Ferdinand replied: “You (Arsenal) got bare deadwood as well though. We do as well (Man United). We are miles off it also.”

Should Richardson’s prediction come true, Arsenal will next win the league in 2052. That means they would have gone 48 years without winning the Premier League trophy.
