Chelsea ran out 3-2 winners over Real Madrid in the quarter-final of the Champions League at the Santiago Bernabeu on Tuesday night.

However, it was Madrid who were celebrating at the end of extra time, as thanks to their 3-1 win in the first leg, they progressed to the semi-finals.

The comeback from Chelsea was spirited and impressive, with Mason Mount, Antonio Rudiger and Timo Werner all getting onto the scoresheet, but wasn't enough to see them through.

One of the key talking points coming out of the match was the brilliance of Luka Modric, who showed that despite turning 37 later this year, he's still one of the best midfielders in the world.

With Chelsea 3-0 up, Modric pulled out a truly outrageous assist in the 80th minute to set up Rodrygo, delivering a beautiful ball into the box with the outside of his right boot.

And it seems like there could be something in the water in Madrid, as Vinicius Jr pulled off a similar assist just this weekend.

On Saturday evening, Real Madrid beat Getafe 2-0, also at the Santiago Bernabéu, with Casemiro and Lucas Vazquez getting onto the scoresheet.

As can be seen above, to set up Casemiro's goal, Vinicius delivered a beautiful ball into the box with the outside of his right foot.

The assist was pretty tasty, and to be fair to Vinicius, it was pretty similar to Modric's last night.

Vinicius' assist hasn't got the same attention as Modric, but that's probably because of the significance of Rodrygo's goal yesterday in keeping Madrid in the Champions League.
