What has Brown said about West Ham’s summer plans?
Brown thinks this could be the summer where the West Ham board deliver and make some ambitious signings.
Speaking to GIVEMESPORT, the Daily Star reporter said: “I would suspect this summer might be the one where they manage to pull something like that off [ambitious signings]. And obviously if they get in the Champions League, that would make a huge difference to being able to attract some of those names.”
How important is this summer for West Ham?
Very. They may need to make significant additions to their squad to convince their star players to remain at the London Stadium.
According to a report from 90min, Jarrod Bowen is attracting interest from Newcastle United, who now have the resources to make individuals big offers.
Team-mate Declan Rice also continues to be linked with other clubs. The Telegraph recently claimed that Manchester United want to sign the West Ham vice-captain and Tottenham talisman Harry Kane as they look to back Erik ten Hag, with the Dutchman set to become their next manager.
If the Hammers are to keep hold of the likes of Bowen and Rice, then they are going to have to show them that the club can progress. And to do that, new signings who are going to improve the team are probably going to be needed.
