Heavyweight boxing star Dillian Whyte has finally broken his silence ahead of next weekend’s title showdown against Tyson Fury.

Ever since the fight between Dillian Whyte and Tyson Fury was announced, the man known as ‘Body Snatcher’ has neglected to help promote the fight as a result of ongoing frustrations with regard to negotiations between the two camps.

Alas, with just 10 days left to go until fight night, the 34-year-old has opted to speak up as his date with destiny draws closer and closer.

The first press conference that was scheduled to feature both individuals was only attended by Fury, with ‘The Gypsy King’ using it as an opportunity to poke fun at his rival.

While this may be the one and only tweet Whyte sends before we get to fight week, it’s certainly telling that he’s thinking about making some noise now that we’re so close to the big event.

The showpiece bout will be contested in front of over 90,000 fans at Wembley Stadium on April 23 with the WBC and The Ring heavyweight titles being up for grabs - as well as the lineal world championship.

In terms of what Whyte said, it feels like his intention was to send a short yet clear message to his unbeaten foe.

“I’m ready. I'm looking forward to seeing everyone on the 23rd of April @wembleystadium . #LetsGooo!!!!”

Whyte earned his shot at Fury after knocking out Alexander Povetkin, just seven months after the Russian stunned him with a vicious KO at Matchroom Sport Headquarters.

What awaits the winner?

If the man himself is to be believed, Tyson Fury is giving a lot of consideration to the idea of retirement after taking on Whyte.

That kind of sentiment obviously needs to be taken with a pinch of salt, especially given how many challenges would still be out there for him.

Oleksandr Usyk, Anthony Joshua and Andy Ruiz Jr are all viable tests for him, in addition to the outside possibility of a crossover fight against UFC heavyweight champion Francis Ngannou.

As for Whyte, he’ll know just how significant his place in the history books would be if he can pull off the upset.
