Green Bay Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers doesn't like to be intercepted by anyone.

So you can imagine how he felt after being picked off by a high school kid at a charity event.

Whilst a lot of attention right now is focused towards the NFL Draft in Las Vegas, that doesn’t mean that players can’t remain active in some fashion as they gear up ahead of the 2022 NFL season.

For a lot of players, this means turning up and helping out at charity events, like the one that Rodgers attended in Orange County in his native state of California.

However, what was meant to be a light-hearted affair that involved a group of kids catching some passes from the four-time NFL MVP quickly took a turn, as footage that has recently emerged details.

Youngster gets his shining moment

As posted by the NFL on Instagram, Rodgers, whilst attempting to throw a pass to a youngster, was intercepted by one of the other participants called Darius Maxwell.

Now picking off someone as prestigious as Rodgers, even at an event like this, is very much something to brag about, so it was no surprise to see Maxwell walk away and celebrate his accomplishment by taunting the 38-year-old before quickly handing the ball to him and running away.

Rodgers doesn’t take it too kindly

Rodgers then responds by throwing the ball back at Maxwell, although whether it was in frustration or in a playful manner is hard to tell as the camera is too far away to truly get a sense of his facial expression:

There are some who have likened the incident to the sketch that another MVP in Peyton Manning took part in for Saturday Night Live a number of years ago, but given some of the attitude that he’s displayed in the past, it shouldn’t be totally ruled out that he may have taken things a little bit too personally.

At the very least it looks as if Maxwell managed to take it in good grace, running away and continuing his celebration.

It will be interesting to see what becomes of him following his now-viral interception, and whether or not, like Harry Kane after he met David Beckham at a charity event of his own, we may be seeing the birth of a future NFL player.

Rodgers is coming off the back of a remarkable season, putting up over 4,000 yards and registering 37 touchdowns to just four interceptions, leading his team to the number one seed in the NFC, before multiple errors on special teams cost his side in the divisional round of the playoffs.
