Manchester City edged past Atletico Madrid to book their spot in the final four of the Champions League on Wednesday night in a bitter affair at the Wanda Metropolitano.

The hosts were at their nitty-gritty best, making it frightfully hard work for City to attack and kill off the tie.

However, it was the scenes in the final minutes that the game will be remembered for, as chaos reigned following an incident between Phil Foden and Felipe.

Stefan Savic was seen pulling Jack Grealish's hair in the melee as the things turned very sour very quickly.

However, it didn't simply end once the mass brawl had been cleared, with even uglier scenes being reported as the players went down the tunnel.

In fact, according to reports coming out of Madrid, the police were forced to intervene after Grealish and Savic confronted each other in the tunnel.

Tunnel Cam footage emerges

Unbelievable, Atletico games always tend to be ill-tempered but this is next level stuff.

BT Sport commentator Darren Flethcer gave the following account of the madness, per the Mirror:

"As the players were leaving the tunnel, Jack Grealish was walking down the tunnel then Stefan Savic caught up with him and all of a sudden there was a commotion right at the mouth of the tunnel."

"At that point a lot of people came running into that area and the two players, Savic and Grealish, disappeared from my view. Very, very quickly after that four police officers came charging to that area as well and there was quite a commotion down there.

“I couldn’t tell you exactly what happened inside the tunnel because I can’t see it, but it was Stefan Savic involved again, Jack Grealish the Man City player that was trying to leave the field, but another unsavoury situation here and very symptomatic of what we saw the last 15 minutes.”
