Inside the ring, it’s no secret that Floyd Mayweather was one of the greatest fighters to ever live.
However, it would appear that his literacy skills aren’t up to scratch, according to some.
At 50-0, Mayweather has produced some memorable moments inside the ring. His last professional outing came against ‘The Notorious’ Conor McGregor back in 2017, winning via TKO in the 10th round.
Since then, ‘Money’ has gone on to compete in various exhibition bouts. He is coming off of a non scored bout against Logan Paul back in June of 2021.
Back in 2013, the ‘Ice Bucket Challenge’ was a big trend. However, rapper 50 Cent opted to do things a little differently.
After knocking a bucket off the balcony, 50 challenged Floyd to something a little more intriguing.
He challenged Mayweather to film himself reading one page from a Harry Potter novel.
If Floyd was successful, then 50 Cent would donate $750,000 to a charity of Mayweather’s choice.
Fighters and stars across the globe have mocked Floyd, claiming the boxer’s literacy skills aren’t quite efficient enough compared to everyone else.
When the challenge got serious as time went on, Jimmy Kimmel offered to televise the reading and make it official.
With that being said, ‘Money’ still refused the challenge. Instead, 50 Cent made the challenge a little bit easier and said that Mayweather could just read The Cat in the Hat instead.
On May 14, Mayweather will return to the ring once again when he faces Don Moore in an exhibition bout at the Burj Al Arab in Dubai.
If Moore loses against Floyd, will he decide to test Mayweather’s literacy skills by asking the undefeated professional boxer to read a page out of a book of his choosing?
