Shortly after his shocker live-on-air, the Arsenal legend was asked to name the two teams he believed would contest the World Cup final.
Campbell selected England and Belgium, with neither country eventually making it to the tournament's grand finale in Moscow.
We'll certainly let him off there, though, as that was far from the worst prediction.
Both England and Belgium reached the semi-finals, where they were eliminated in closely-fought matches against Croatia and France.
Les Bleus went on to win the tournament by beating Croatia 4-2, a match which saw Kylian Mbappe become the first teenager since the great Pele to score in a World Cup final.
