It's been 33 years since the Hillsborough disaster.On April 15, 1989, play was stopped in the 7th minute of the match between Liverpool and Sheffield Wednesday.97 Liverpool supporters lost their lives and hundreds more were injured.Just four days after the tragedy, AC Milan paid tribute to those that lost their lives in a truly moving display.AC Milan welcomed Real Madrid to the San Siro for their European Cup semi-final second leg clash.With just a minute played, Belgian referee Alexis Ponnet blew his whistle to temporarily stop the match and prompt a minute’s silence for the Hillsborough victims.The 73,000 fans inside the San Siro fell silent. The supporters then began clapping and broke into a rendition of the chorus of ‘You’ll Never Walk Alone’.According to the Daily Mail, Milan supporters' groups had distributed leaflets with the words of the song printed on them in the days leading up to the match and urged their fans to learn them off by heart.Footage of the moment has gone viral again and it was truly moving tribute.
