Paul Pogba looks set to leave Manchester United in the summer, ending what can only be described as a difficult spell with the club.

The Frenchman arrived in Manchester in 2016 after United agreed a deal with his former employers Juventus worth £89 million.

At the time it was a world record transfer fee, which meant that Pogba's return to Old Trafford carried with it an immense sense of expectation - Pogba was the man to put Manchester United back on their perch.

We all know now that things didn't exactly go to plan, and as a consequence, the flashy star has endured an indifferent relationship with most of the Old Trafford faithful.

Many have been angered by the player's attitude on the pitch, as well as the frequent flirting with opposition clubs via his outspoken agent- Mino Raiola.

Others, rightly or wrongly, were bothered by his obsession with having new extravagant haircuts each week.

Although, we feel like that may not have been an issue had Pogba been producing the goods on the pitch...

At the end of the day, it all boils down to performances, and in that sense you can quite clearly understand the frustration from United fans.

The talent is obvious. He is a special player, arguably the most gifted midfielder in the world when he wants to turn it on - we see him do it in a France shirt regularly.

So, why has that not translated back into his club form at United? Well, it's looking like we'll never know.

And with that becoming clear, supporters of the Red Devils have really turned on him...

United fans making their feelings known

Pogba was the target of many boos and jeers when Man Utd welcomed Norwich to Old Trafford on Saturday. Never more so, than in the 74th minute when being hauled off by Ralf Rangnick.

As the Frenchman approached the subs bench, the chant 'fu** off Pogba' could be heard echoing around the Theatre of Dreams.

Pogba simply looked up and smiled.

It's never nice to hear a player being subjected to such abuse, no matter what friction is influencing the crowd in that moment.

In a time when mental health is becoming more prevalent it's important we remember that players are human, too.

If rumours are to be believed, the most likely destination for Pogba is the French capital with Paris Saint-Germain looking to secure his services.

Hopefully he gets his switch, and wherever he settles, let's hope that he can resurrect his career and fulfil the potential he so obviously has.
