Tottenham should do all they can to sign Inter Milan wing-back Ivan Perisic if he becomes available on a free transfer this summer, according to journalist Pete O'Rourke.

Perisic has played for a number of top clubs across Europe, including Bayern Munich and Borussia Dortmund during his glittering career, and he could be on the move again in the coming months.

What's the latest news involving Perisic?

The 113-cap international has been on Inter's books since 2015, although he did have a season away from the club on loan at Bayern.

His current deal is set to expire at the end of June, meaning that as things stand, he would become a free agent in just over two months' time.

It has been reported that Perisic wants to see the offers on the table for him before making a final decision on his future.

Tottenham are believed to be interested in the 33-year-old. If this move goes through, it could see Perisic reunited with his former boss at Inter, Antonio Conte.

What has O'Rourke said about Perisic's future?

O'Rourke expects a number of clubs to be keen on Perisic in the coming months. However, he feels that if the opportunity presents itself to Spurs to land Perisic, they should seize it.

He told GIVEMESPORT: “I think Perisic is one who will surely be on the radar of a number of clubs. He is out of contract in the summer as well, although Inter Milan are working hard to try and tie him down to a new contract. But, if you can get someone like Ivan Perisic on a free transfer, it’s really a no-brainer.”

Should Tottenham try to sign Perisic?

Some Tottenham fans may look at Perisic's age, and be concerned that the Croatian wide man is past his best at this stage of his career.

Looking at his performances this term, though, that does not appear to be the case. In 29 Serie A appearances for the Nerazzurri, Perisic has registered five goals and five assists, to put Inter firmly in the mix for another Scudetto.

Indeed, former England boss Fabio Capello hailed Perisic earlier this season, claiming he was making a vital difference to Inter's side with his "pace and quality".

The left wing-back position has also been a problem area for Tottenham this year, with neither Sergio Reguilon nor Ryan Sessegnon looking particularly convincing down that flank.

Perisic would add invaluable experience if he moved to Hotspur Way, and could be the latest Serie A signing to be a hit at Spurs, if Fabio Paratici can get a deal for him over the line.
