Leeds could look to sign a striker with Premier League experience this summer, according to transfer insider Dean Jones.

Patrick Bamford remains Leeds' only senior option up front, and Jones reckons that Jesse Marsch will look to bolster his frontline when the transfer window reopens for business.

What's the latest news involving Leeds?

Marsch has made a positive impact since he replaced Marcelo Bielsa a couple of months ago, made more impressive by the fact he's virtually done it without a recognised striker.

Bamford has started just two of his six games in charge, playing just 100 minutes in total, which has forced the Leeds manager to deploy Daniel James in an unfamiliar false nine role.

Rodrigo has also played through the middle on a number of occasions this season, while youngster Joe Gelhardt has started two top-flight games, and has two goals and one assist for his efforts.

As a result, Jones reckons the Elland Road outfit will push for another striker this summer and is expecting Marsch to target someone who's previously played in the Premier League.

What did Jones say about Leeds?

He told GIVEMESPORT: "They're undoubtedly going to sign a new striker.

"Personally, I think they will look for someone who's already done it in the Premier League because they've seen other players, Rodrigo, for example, he's a great player, but he's taken a long time to understand life in the Premier League."

Who could Leeds look to sign?

Jones previously told GiveMeSport that he thinks Marsch could look to sign Watford's Emmanuel Dennis, who's scored 10 goals in his debut Premier League campaign but could be on the move if the Hornets get relegated, which is looking likelier with every passing week.

Meanwhile, LeedsLive suggested that the Yorkshire giants target another Watford forward in Cucho Hernandez.

The 22-year-old hasn't fared as well as Dennis, but has still found the net five times, including goals against both Arsenal and Manchester City, while chipping in with two assists, which is a decent return considering he's played just over 1,100 minutes in the top-flight.
