Tottenham could look to sign a homegrown right wing-back this summer, according to Sky Sports reporter Michael Bridge.

Antonio Conte has made signing a right wing-back a priority when the transfer window reopens for business after failing to recruit one in January.

What are Tottenham's current right wing-back options?

Conte currently has two players at his disposal in Matt Doherty and Emerson Royal, with the duo sharing the workload in recent months.

Royal has started 20 of Spurs' 32 Premier League games this season and has been first choice for the majority of the time since he signed from Barcelona last summer.

But the Brazilian has struggled to adapt to playing as a wing-back, contributing to just two goals in his 25 top-flight appearances, which has led to reports that he could make a swift move away from north London.

Meanwhile, Doherty has chipped in with an impressive two goals and four assists in his nine league starts under Conte having been completely overlooked by Nuno Espirito Santo.

However, with Royal potentially being sold this summer, Tottenham will have to replace him, and Bridge expects Conte to go down the homegrown route.

What did Bridge say about Tottenham's search for a right wing-back?

He told GIVEMESPORT: "When I spoke to someone in February time, the line I got is that it would be someone younger, maybe homegrown again.

"I don't know whether that will change due to Doherty's injury, but I reckon they will go down the homegrown route on that one."

Which right wing-backs have Tottenham been linked with?

Tottenham have been linked with several homegrown right-sided players in recent months, which suggests that's the route Conte will go down.

In March, Goal reported that Spurs were favourites to sign Djed Spence, who's spending the season on loan at Nottingham Forest from Middlesbrough, although they face competition from Arsenal and Leeds.

Conte's side are also targeting another Boro youngster in Isaiah Jones, who's chipped in with nine assists in 38 Championship outings this season, although a host of European sides are in the race for his signature, including Atletico Madrid and Ajax.

Meanwhile, Brighton's Tariq Lamptey has been of interest in the past, although the Seagulls previously set an asking-price of around £50m, which is a fee that Spurs are unlikely to match.
