Celtic are poised to reclaim the SPFL crown this season after carving out a six-point gap over eternal rivals, Rangers.

Having seen their iron-clad grip on the title torn loose by Steven Gerrard's Rangers last season, the Celtic Park side have come roaring back, desperate to avoid consecutive years of heartache.

They took a massive leap towards that goal earlier this month when they beat Rangers in a crucial clash thanks to goals from Tom Rogic and Cameron Carter-Vickers.

Now, however, they have been lumped with added incentive to get the job done thanks to one of their most famous fans, Snoop Dogg.

The hip-hop superstar, speaking in a recent interview, has promised the squad and staff quite a night if they manage to get over the line and reclaim the domestic dominance.

"My Bhoys are not there yet but after their win against Rangers, they are getting close to winning the championship," he told The Daily Record.

"Snoop hasn’t booked his ticket just yet but the passport is out of the safe. As soon as they are champions, you better believe I am on that flight to Glasgow.”

With just five games to go, Celtic are certainly in the pound seats but won't be counting their chickens just yet.

Snoop however, is in confident mood as he added:

The night is going to go off and whatever they want to do, it’s all going to be on Snoop. The champagne is going to be out and we are going to get it poppin’.

"For real, I love Indian food and always get the best curry in the UK. So if there are any good Indian restaurants in Glasgow, we can start the night there and I will hire out the whole place."

Snoop Dogg became a Celtic fan in 2005 when he was handed a Celtic jersey by DJ Big Al.

It might be one of the more bizarre celebrity/football club combinations but it just seems to work.

Here's hoping that, should they get the job done, the Celtic squad make the most of every minute celebrating with Snoop.
