Everton have produced some brilliant talents in the 21st century.

Wayne Rooney is undoubtedly their most successful academy graduate in the past 22 years, while Jack Rodwell and Leon Osman also had good Premier League careers.

Ross Barkley is another high-profile name that made a name for themselves at Everton.

Barkley joined the club at the age of 11. He went on to make his debut for the club in 2010 before departing for Chelsea in 2018.

During Barkley's eight-year spell in Everton's first-team, he played 179 times for the club and scored 27 goals.

His strike against Bournemouth in 2017, his 26th in an Everton shirt, can be considered one of the most disrespectful goals in Premier League history.

On February 4, 2017, Everton and Bournemouth played out a nine-goal thriller.

Everton won 6-3 at Goodison Park, with Barkley scoring their sixth in the fourth minute of stoppage-time.

With Bournemouth chasing the unlikeliest of late comebacks, they were hit on the break by Barkley.

The Englishman rounded Bournemouth stopper Artur Boruc, who came rushing out of his goal.

Barkley had an open goal and, in the knowledge that he was about to score, he raised his arms in celebration.

He then rolled the ball into an empty net before celebrating in the corner. Watch the goal below...

The disrespect.

Imagine if he missed. Barkley would never have been able to live that down.

Fortunately for him he was able to keep his cool and find the back of the net.

Now 28, Barkley is on the fringes of Chelsea's first-team. He has played just 12 times for Thomas Tuchel's side this campaign.

He's clearly deemed surplus to requirements at the club. Everton were linked with Barkley in the winter. Maybe a return to Goodison Park could be on the horizon for the playmaker.
