Wide receivers have certainly found themselves in the news a lot this offseason, with reports that a number of high-profile ones look set to sit out part of preseason whilst they settle contract disputes.

But whilst they still have contracts to sort out, that isn't going to be a problem for the Los Angeles Rams, as they managed to tie down arguably the best receiver in the game, and reigning Super Bowl MVP Cooper Kupp to a new contract.

This follows on from their deal to keep perennial All-Pro defensive tackle Aaron Donald in town following suggestions that he might be retiring this offseason, meaning that the Rams are in a pretty good position to try and do something that hasn't been done since the 2003 and 2004 New England Patriots, and that's repeat as Super Bowl champions.

Worth every penny?

Details of the contract are emerging, with figures suggesting that he is set to earn $110m over the course of his contract, which is set to see him through the 2026 season, which includes a guaranteed $75m thrown into the mix.

Cooper has just come off the back of a season for the ages, leading the league in receptions with 145, receiving yards with 1,947 and receiving touchdowns with 16, earning himself the NFL Offensive Player of the Year award in the process.

He then added another 6 touchdowns in the postseason on his way to helping guide the Rams to Super Bowl glory.

Where does he stack up?

However whilst he is being handsomely paid, something that after last season is very hard to argue, it still isn't enough to crack top spot when it comes to his fellow wideouts, but just who is at the top of the pile? Let's find out.

Additional values taken from Spotrac with players ranked in terms of the overall value of the contract.:

9 - Kenny Golladay, New York Giants, $72m

9 - Christian Kirk, Jacksonville Jaguars, $72m

8 - Keenan Allen, Los Angeles Chargers, $80.1m

7 - Mike Evans, Tampa Bay Buccaneers, $82.5m

6 - Stefon Diggs, Buffalo Bills, $96m

5 - Michael Thomas, New Orleans Saints, $96.25m

4 - Amari Cooper, Cleveland Browns, $100m

3 - Cooper Kupp, Los Angeles Rams, $110m

2 - Tyreek Hill, Miami Dolphins, $120m

1 - Davante Adams, Las Vegas Raiders, $140m

With the passing game dominating the NFL landscape, you imagine that these figures won't stay this way for long as players continue to show their worth, and it might not be long before Davante Adams is knocked off of top spot.
