Amir Khan’s wife, Faryal Makhdoom, has revealed sickening footage of the moment two hooded men stole her husband’s £72,000 watch during a night out in East London.

Makhdoom took to Instagram to share footage of two men exiting a Mercedes Benz and making a beeline towards Khan.

Moments after, the pair of hooded males pressured the former world champion boxer into giving up his Franck Muller watch, before fleeing the scene.

Makhdoom captioned the post: “Footage of last night’s robbery.”

She added: “Two men coming out of the car… they knew exactly what time we walked out.”

Whilst shopping on Oxford Street, Khan was pictured with a fan hours before the robbery took place. In the photo, Khan is wearing the stolen watch, worth £72,000.

Faryal Makhdoom said: “Seems like a set up to me, considering we didn’t even post where we were.”

“It makes me sick to the stomach to know someone sitting in the restaurant was probably the one plotting this.”

Adding to her Instagram post, Makhdoom posted the stolen watch’s serial number, in an attempt to “find out who’s done this.”

Eyewitnesses claimed that both Khan and his wife were noticeably shaken by the incident, they told newspapers that “they [the robbers] were not hanging around. They got straight into the car and fled.”

A spokesman from the Metropolitan Police said: “Police responded and conducted an area search. At this very early stage there have been no arrests. An investigation has begun, and the police are following a number of enquiries.”

“Amir had enjoyed a lovely evening with his wife and had been shopping earlier in the day. It raises real fears he was a deliberate target. It’s extremely serious. He was left absolutely terrified.”

Amir Khan took to Twitter to reassure his followers that he and Faryal were unharmed during the robbery.

“I crossed the road with Faryal, luckily she was a few steps behind me. The main thing is we’re both safe.”
