Dillian Whyte fans, look away now!

In an interview with Sky Sports in 2020, the 34-year-old was in absolute hysterics over Tyson Fury’s seventh round destruction of Deontay Wilder.

After the events of Saturday night, it seems as though the footage hasn’t aged very well at all…

What a spectacle we were treated to on Saturday night! 94,000 fans bore witness to one of the most iconic nights in British boxing history. Wembley Stadium was rocking, as two Englishmen threw down in a fight for the ages.

Fury seemed to be on another level. Whyte couldn’t get close, the sheer size of the Gypsy King coupled with his crazy skill level seemed to be all too much for the Brixton man. Whyte seemed frustrated in there, unable to impose his will on Fury, and in the sixth round he was caught with a devastating uppercut that he simply could not recover from.

It wasn’t the first shattering beat-down we have seen Fury inflict in recent years. Wilder also received the Brit's wrath in their second and third meeting, with the Gypsy King stopping him on both occasions.

Two years ago, Dillian got quite the kick out of it!

After Saturday night, Twitter was quick to remind Dillian that maybe he ought to have been a little more sympathetic after Wilder’s first defeat to Fury. The 14-second clip captured in 2020, shows Whyte in absolute hysterics over the Bronze Bomber’s performance, also commenting: “He got beat up so bad!”

Bad decision, Dillian. If you are going to come at the Bronze Bomber, then you have to back those words up in the ring!

Whyte may want to stay off Twitter for a while as this isn’t the first occasion that his words have come back to bite him.

Before Saturday night’s bout, Whyte shrugged off Fury’s dominant performances over Wilder, labelling him a “boring” boxer.

Perhaps Fury has given him a little lesson in grace and decorum after shattering his title hopes on Saturday night.
