Will Nintendo Switch Sports have baseball?

Nintendo Switch Sports

Nintendo Switch Sports is the next exciting game to hit the Nintendo Switch console, it will be the first Nintendo made sports game for the device. But will it feature baseball?

Nintendo Switch Sports is set to be released on the 29th of April 2022 and will try to replicate the brilliance and popularity of past titles for the Wii console in Wii Sports and Wii Sports Resort. The all-new title was announced in February last year and fans have been excited since to dive back into a motion control experience playing some of their favourite sports.

An all-new title means all-new sports will be featured. Nintendo has included many of the fan favourites from the previous titles but has engineered them to feel more appropriate for the Nintendo Switch’s superior capabilities.

So this begs the question, what sports have made it onto the new title? Baseball was one of the most played and loved games on the original Wii Sports – so fans we’re expecting to see this one back on our screens.

So will Nintendo Switch Sports have baseball? Find out below.

Will Nintendo Switch Sports have baseball?

Nintendo Switch Sports 2

Unfortunately – no, Nintendo Switch Sports will not have baseball.

Just as it didn’t make it into Wii Sports Resort – baseball will also not be making the step onto the switch in Nintendo Switch Sports.

This is a rather strange decision due to its overall popularity in the original title, combined with the fact Japan has a massive baseball culture – but it appears Nintendo made the decision that this wasn’t going to be one of the original sports to feature in the game.

It’s unconfirmed as to whether DLC will be available for Nintendo Switch Sports, so there could still be a chance it’ll be added at a later date – but for now, we won’t be swinging a bat anytime soon.

Which sports do Nintendo Switch Sports have?

Nintendo has confirmed the following with regards to the sports that will be available to play as part of Nintendo Switch Sports:

  • Soccer
  • Volleyball
  • Bowling
  • Tennis
  • Badminton
  • Chambara (Swordplay)

Two of the original favourites make a return in bowling and tennis, whilst chambara also makes a return from the Wii Sports Resort title.

This means three all new sports in soccer, volleyball and badminton will be available to play for the very first time in the new title.
