Tyson Fury vs Dillian Whyte: What was said during final face-off

In a surprisingly light-hearted face-off, Dillian Whyte told Tyson Fury “we’re both fat boys” before the pair shared a few playful moments ahead of their big fight.

Ahead of tonight’s head-to-head in front of a record 90,000 crowd at Wembley Stadium, the two brits were seen laughing and joking with each other at their weigh-in.

The Gypsy King, who is looking to defend his WBC title, towered over Whyte as he moved side-to-side in a bid to antagonise him.

Despite the 6ft 9in boxer’s best attempts, The Body Snatcher was reluctant to get involved in the shenanigans, instead jokingly bobbing up and down.

The intensity quickly dissipated as the two fighters began to embrace each other and poke fun at their weight, touching each other’s pecks and debating who looks better.

In an up-close video released by BT Sport, Fury says: “You know I’m a fat boy!” before Whyte replied: “We’re both fat boys, bruv.”

Whyte was first to take the scales and came in at 18 stone 1Ibs and 4oz, which is 6Ibs heavier than what he weighed in at for his last fight against Alexander Povetkin in March 2021.

Fury was next to be weighed and came in at 18 stone 12Ibs and 13oz, a surprising 12.2Ibs lighter than he was for his trilogy bout against Deontay Wilder.

The two fighters went on to shake hands with each other and their respected teams, and traded their hats in a moment where Fury states: “That’s respect.”

The crowds were ecstatic as they watched the exchange, clapping and cheering for the two big names.

Although their pre-fight meeting was remarkably calm and laid back, it’s expected the pair will be back to their serious selves when they meet each other in the ring tonight.
