WWE 2K22 has enjoyed an excellent launch since its release at the beginning of March.

The game has been a critical success, receiving a Metacritic score of over 75, and has recently been subject to one of the bigger patches since its release.

That has seen the NXT 2.0 arena added to the game, as well as the broadcast packages that go alongside it, while there have also been major updates to MyGM and MyFaction.

The game is, of course, one of the only wrestling games available to buy on the market, with the only other alternative really being Fire Pro Wrestling, a much more arcade-style wrestling game that focuses mainly on New Japan Pro Wrestling.

However, there is going to be a new kid on the block soon enough when All Elite Wrestling release their video game.

A new report from Fightful has made the claim that AEW’s video game is set to release later this year, and could be titled ‘AEW: Fight Forever’.

The video game was first announced around 18 months ago and so far, we have only seen teases of the gameplay, with Kenny Omega, a former AEW world champion, playing a huge role in both its announcement and its subsequent development.

Darby Allin features in the first AEW video game trailer.

We do know that both Jungle Boy and Darby Allin will be in the game, as they each featured in a gameplay teaser trailer that shed some light on the arcade stylings of the game.

Now, it is said to have a very tentative release date of September 2022.

That would mean that competition for WWE 2K22 could be on its way in around five months.

Fightful also claims that a major publisher is already on board, so it may be a case of the developers getting very close to being able to ship the title for purchase.

We’ll surely get more information over the coming months, with roster reveals, more gameplay trailers, and screenshots all likely to follow.

As ever, we’ll keep you updated when any new information comes to light.
