Stone Cold Austin can fill the void left by The Undertaker, according to two-time WWE Hall of Famer Booker T.

Austin made a triumphant in-ring return to WWE at WrestleMania earlier this month, headlining night one and defeating Kevin Owens in Dallas. It was the 57-year-old’s first match for nineteen years, after previously not entertaining the idea of returning due to years of injuries to his knees and neck.

However, the success of Austin’s WrestleMania return has got fans hoping it wasn’t the last time we see The Rattlesnake back in the ring, and fellow Hall of Famer Booker T believes WWE should now use Austin in the same role as previously occupied by The Undertaker.

Speaking on his Hall of Fame podcast, the former WWE World Heavyweight Champion thinks Stone Cold could take the ‘legend’ spot that Undertaker has now left open following his retirement in 2020.

I wouldn’t say he’s a WrestleMania guy or anything like that. Star power is everything. Saudi Arabia, to have Stone Cold Steve Austin on that card – boom, I’m sure the people over there would love it. To see Austin in Cardiff, Wales, that would be awesome because those guys out there haven’t seen him in such a long time. To see Stone Cold Steve Austin live, up close and in person, that would just be a moment for those guys, just to see Steve Austin – forget about him in the ring. I see Steve as maybe the new Undertaker. The guy that shows up, pop the crowd, give the crowd that moment that they’re going to remember for the rest of their lives – and, me personally, that’s a damn good position to be in.

Austin has already confirmed that his in-ring career was now over but was open to future appearances for WWE. However, he did also admit that he would be at WrestleMania 39 in LA next year if he got the call from Vince McMahon. Sparking speculation that we haven't seen the last of Stone Cold stomping mud-holes in a WWE ring.

GiveMeSport has already put forward our own suggestions on what Austin could do at WrestleMania 39, which you can read here.
