Manchester United went into their game away at Arsenal in desperate need of a win.

Ralf Rangnick's side were thrashed 4-0 by Liverpool in their last Premier League fixture and the onus was on them to bounce back in order to stand any chance of finishing in the top four.

But just three minutes into the match at the Emirates Stadium on Saturday, United found themselves 1-0 down.

The often-criticised Nuno Tavares tapped into an empty net for Arsenal after David de Gea brilliantly saved Bukayo Saka's curling effort.

United's defending in the build-up was woeful, with both Raphael Varane and Alex Telles failing to clear the ball inside the box.

Arsenal took full advantage and the only thing worse than the visitors' attempts to nullify the danger was Tavares' celebration.

The Portuguese left-back tried to nail a knee slide right by the goal, but it all went horribly wrong for him...

Better luck next time, Nuno.

Tavares' hilariously bad attempt at a knee slide came only a few days after Burnley's Nathan Collins executed the celebration perfectly in their 2-0 win over Southampton.

The Arsenal man should book in some lessons with Collins immediately...

Tavares' early strike against United was his first goal for Arsenal and it couldn't have come at a better time for the north London outfit.

The Gunners then took a 2-0 lead in the 32nd minute, Saka firing home from the penalty spot after VAR declared the winger was fouled in the box by Telles.

But Arsenal weren't two goals ahead for long. Just a couple of minutes after Saka's penalty, Cristiano Ronaldo finished superbly from Nemanja Matic's cross to make it 2-1 on the day.

United had a chance to equalise shortly after the restart, but Bruno Fernandes saw his penalty kick hit the post and go wide.

Arsenal went on to make it 3-1 in the 70th minute through a wonder-strike by Granit Xhaka and that was the final scoreline at the Emirates.

What a week for it's been for the Gunners...

Can you name these obscure January transfers Arsenal have made?
