Lionel Messi was back in action for PSG on Saturday night and he marked his return with a bang.

With the Parisian side on the brink of reclaiming the Ligue 1 title, the seven-time Ballon d'Or winner chipped in with a quite outrageous goal.

Messi's move to PSG hasn't exactly set the world on fire but he has shown us glimpses of his one-of-a-kind genius.

And, as PSG struggled to break the deadlock against a stubborn RC Lens, the Aregentine magician stepped up to do what he does best.

Swooping on a loose ball outside the area, Messi took one touch before rocketing a vicious curling strike past the hapless goalkeeper.

It was vintage Messi and you could see the relief in his celebration in the moments after.

You can see the superb strike in the clip below:

With PSG going onto win the clash, Messi's goal proved to be a title-clincher as the Paris giants ascended the French domestic mountain once again.

It hasn't always been easy for Messi in the French capital, but tonight will be a particularly sweet night for one of the greatest footballers of all time.

With just a handful of goals to his name and an early exit from the Champions League, it hasn't exactly been the sort of season Messi would be use to and yet tonight he celebrates another title.

Eyes will already be turning to what the future hold for Messi, who will be desperate to go as deep as he can with Argentina at the World Cup later this year.

Having made it all the way to the final in 2014, Messi - who will almost certainly be playing in his last global party - will have a massive role to play if Argentina are to be successful.

With his career reaching its twilight years, a fine showing at the World Cup would go down a treat with fans all over the world.
