Chelsea's Jorginho takes awful penalty as Blues steal Premier League win

Chelsea‘s stuttering run-in hit yet another snag in London on Sunday as they struggled to break West Ham down.

The Hammers did a fantastic job of stifling the home side with neither team registering a shot on target in an underwhelming first half.

The second half wasn’t much better either, with both side struggling to carve out guilt-edged chances.

However, that all changed when Jorginho was given the chance to break the deadlock from the penalty spot – an opportunity you would normally bet you house on him gobbling up.

However, what followed was quite possibly one of the worst penalties you may ever have the displeasure of seeing.

With West Ham a man down and only four minutes to play, it was the ideal opportunity to steal three valuable points.

Unfortunately, Jorginho’s iconic stutter and jump simply didn’t work as he merely passed the ball into the arms of the keeper.

You can see the awful moment in the clip below:

Oh dear.

Fortunately, Jorginho’s blushes were spared thanks to late strike from Christian Pulisic.

It could prove to be a massive three points for Chelsea who were slipping ominously close to that fierce race for the final spot in the Champions League.

With Arsenal and Tottenham battling it out for fourth, the last thing the Blues wanted was to be drawn into a slugfest for the promised land of the Champions League.

Now, the Blues have carved out a handy gap over the Gunners and will be hopig to cruise into the end of the season and shift their focus to the FA Cup final.

For Jorginho, it will be an afternoon to forget after his unique penalty technique was well and truly found out.
