Cristiano Ronaldo: Damning Man Utd video goes viral after 3-1 defeat v Arsenal

A video titled ‘How can you blame Cristiano Ronaldo’ has gone viral on social media following Manchester United’s 3-1 defeat away at Arsenal.
The legendary Portuguese forward returned to United’s starting line-up on Saturday after missing last week’s 4-0 loss against Liverpool following the tragic death of one of his twin babies.
Ronaldo was powerless to prevent Man Utd slumping to their 10th Premier League defeat of the season but did score his 16th league goal of the campaign. Only Liverpool’s Mohamed Salah and Tottenham’s Son Heung-min have netted more goals this season than the five-time Ballon d’Or winner.
Considering how poor United have been this term, it’s a minor miracle that Ronaldo has managed to score an impressive 22 goals in 35 games this season.
That’s without factoring in his age. Ronaldo turned 37 in February and still leads by example when it comes to fitness, training and preparation.
It’s been said on numerous occasions throughout the season – not by everyone, but by many football fans and pundits alike – that Ronaldo’s return has caused United more problems than solutions.

Video: How can you blame Cristiano Ronaldo?
But one damning video suggesting that Ronaldo’s teammates are more responsible for the club’s poor league position is currently being spread across Twitter.

One thing’s for sure: Ronaldo should have many more assists to his name this season.
The amount of gilt-edged chances his teammates have spurned since August is eye-opening.
At the time of writing, though, Ronaldo has registered just three assists since completing his surprise return to Old Trafford last summer.
Let’s check out some of the reaction to the video:

Will Cristiano Ronaldo stay at Man Utd?
It’s unclear whether the revered Portugal international will stay at United beyond this summer, especially now that the Red Devils have virtually no chance of qualifying for next season’s Champions League.
But Man Utd’s newly-appointed head coach Erik ten Hag will surely be keen to work with the GOAT contender when he officially joins the club this summer.
