Williams driver Alex Albon said he was pleased with the approach the team took to the Grand Prix at Imola on Sunday, as they finished just outside of the top ten.

The Thai/British driver earned a fine tenth place in Australia in round three of this year's world championship, and was naturally looking to build on that in Italy.

However, he fell just short of the top ten, slotting in in P11 in the final classification, though he still took the positives from the result.

"I was really happy with it. We maximised what we could do..." Albon said to the gathered press at Imola, including Give Me Sport.

"We don't have the fastest car but we make the most of our opportunities and it's a shame we missed out on the points by one position but it shows you we're taking opportunities and doing things differently and we almost made it work again."

Albon was also asked how confident he was feeling after another strong display following on from his point in Australia:

"It feels very good, I feel really comfortable in the car and confident with it and I feel like I can push it straight away. I'm still understanding the car and the best way to drive it but for now it's a great place to start and hopefully once we get some upgrades we can make that next step into the midfield."
