Everton: £67.4m star's name 'has come up' in Goodison Park boardroom

Everton manager Frank Lampard

Everton forward Richarlison potentially joining Arsenal has come up in meetings between Farhad Moshiri and super-agent Kia Joorabchian, believes Daily Star journalist Paul Brown.

The Brazilian has been linked with a move to the Gunners, and Brown thinks Joorabchian is pushing for a transfer to take place.

What is the latest news involving Richarlison?

According to Football Insider, Richarlison has told his agent to find him a new club ahead of the 2022/23 season.

And Arsenal could be a possible destination, with transfer insider Dean Jones telling GIVEMESPORT earlier this month that the north London outfit are firmly in the equation to sign the 24-year-old this summer.

Mikel Arteta, however, is likely to face competition, as reports from Brazil suggest that Tottenham are also keen on Richarlison.

In fact, UOL claims that Arsenal’s north London rivals have already made an approach for the Brazil international, who Everton are thought to value at €80m (£67.4m).

What has Brown said about Richarlison?

While Brown does think Richarlison to Arsenal has been discussed, the Daily Star reporter believes Joorabchian, who has strong ties with those running the Gunners and Everton, is the one pushing it.

Speaking about Richarlison, Joorabchian and Moshiri, Brown told GMS: “I’m sure that has come up in meetings [Richarlison joining Arsenal]. I’m sure that name’s been mentioned, but I would suggest at the moment that’s being pushed by the agent rather than the club.”

Will Richarlison join Arsenal?

Given that Everton could be playing in the Championship next season, it certainly seems like a possibility.

Richarlison will not want to stick around should Frank Lampard’s side drop down to English football’s second tier, and the reality is he is probably too good to.

Arsenal are also likely to be in the market for some new forwards this summer, as Alexandre Lacazette and Eddie Nketiah are both out of contract at the end of June.

Do you know this obscure Everton footballer from the 1990s?

Richarlison has mostly played up front this term, but he is equally as comfortable on the left flank. That, his Premier League experience and the fact that he can score goals on his day, with the former Watford man registering against the likes of Liverpool, Chelsea and Manchester City back in the 2019/20 campaign, make him a name worth considering.

And while £67.4m is the fee that is currently floating around, you would expect him to be available for a much cheaper price if Everton do go on to get relegated. Therefore, Richarlison to Arsenal is one you probably cannot rule out.
