The 30-year-old has been heavily linked with a move to the north London club, and Brown is expecting them to at least make an offer when the transfer window reopens.
What is the latest news involving De Vrij?
According to Ignazio Genuardi (via Get French Football News), Paris Saint-Germain have identified De Vrij as an alternative target to Antonio Rudiger, who is set to join Real Madrid after deciding to leave Chelsea.
Prior, InterLive.it reported that De Vrij was on Tottenham’s radar after manager Antonio Conte, who worked with the centre-back during his time at the San Siro, made a request for him to be signed.
Central defence is almost certain to be a position Conte looks to strengthen this summer, with The Telegraph claiming that the Italian ideally wants at least one centre-half to be brought in.

What has Brown said about De Vrij to Tottenham?
Brown has told GIVEMESPORT that he would be surprised if Tottenham did not make a serious attempt to sign De Vrij in the upcoming transfer window.
Speaking to GMS, the Daily Star reporter said: “I would be very surprised if a bid wasn’t made for him. The only reason I think they wouldn’t make a bid there is if they’re told by the player or the club that there’s no chance of him coming to Spurs. I think that’s very likely to happen this summer.”
Can Tottenham beat PSG to De Vrij’s signature?
De Vrij is a fan of Conte, which hardly comes as a shock after the two won the Serie A title at Inter last season.
“If you work with this coach, you understand why he’s so successful,” the 6 ft 2 Netherlands international told Algemeen Dagblad (via Football Italia) last year. “He’s so passionate, so demanding. And tactically, he’s very strong.”
Considering that relationship between the two, Tottenham may fancy their chances. However, there is a good chance that the north London outfit could miss out on Champions League football next season, while PSG, who will make winning that very same competition a priority, are probably likely to offer higher wages.
Therefore, if both clubs really are interested in signing De Vrij, Spurs could struggle to see off PSG.
