Frank Warren believes Tyson Fury is a bigger star than Anthony Joshua and Saul 'Canelo' Alvarez.

The Gypsy King regained his WBC heavyweight world title from Deontay Wilder and he successfully defended it again on Saturday.

Fury was ordered to fight Dillian Whyte after the Body Snatcher was made mandatory challenger by the sanctioning body and enjoyed a homecoming party at Wembley Stadium.

Queensberry Promotions chief Warren was present at ringside as Fury put on a performance of the ages at the weekend.

The 70-year-old insists Fury is now the biggest superstar in boxing - even ahead of Canelo Alvarez.

Asked if he thinks Fury is the most popular boxer in the sport, Warren told iFL TV: "Yeah, I would do.

"You know, Canelo's amazing. He's got that fanatic Mexican following but then Tyson's got a fanatic British following as we've seen on Saturday night - and American.

"There's that old adage - there's heavyweight boxing, and there's boxing, and that's really how it's always been over the years.

"Tyson is the man at the moment. That performance at the weekend was a fantastic tribute to him.

"You know, Canelo's a great fighter. He's a great fighter. There's no doubt about that.

"We've done most of his fights on BoxNation. You know, he's still there, he's still in big fights. it'll be interesting to see how he does now on DAZN.

"Is he going to carry on doing that I don't know we'll see but he's going to run out of opponents as well now by the looks of it."

Warren, 70, also believes Fury has a much better resume than Joshua despite Eddie Hearn recently suggesting otherwise.

He added: "When Tyson fought Klitschko, that was 18 months or two years before Joshua did, and he was a better fighter.

"And Tyson went over and done it in his backyard.

"He was based in Germany, his fights were all in Germany, he went and done it in front of 60-odd thousand fans, and went and took him to school in Germany, and he was the best heavyweight of his generation.

"You look how Tyson fought him, I mean, he never got a look in, Klitschko.

"Then you look at Klitschko against Joshua - if he'd had the legs that he'd had maybe when he was fighting Tyson he might have finished Joshua.

"But he got up, credit to Anthony Joshua, he got off the canvas, took the fight back to him, but I think he could have stopped him, an old Klitschko would have stopped him.

"But anyway, did Dillian Whyte improve after fighting AJ? I think he did, and I think Joshua had a tougher fight with Dillian Whyte than Tyson certainly did, that's for sure.

"Dillian Whyte's fights with Derek Chisora? I think their first one, I thought Chisora just nicked it, I think the second one you know if Dillian didn't clip him I think he was behind.

"Tyson beat him the first time, and the second time, he absolutely took him to school.

"In fact he done the same job on him there in some ways it was a bit like watching the early rounds of the Chisora fight how he jabbed him and picked him apart.

"So I've got to say Tyson.

"People say I'm biased, everyone's got the opinions, but I think anyone who knows a bit about boxing would think he's had the better fights."
