Cristiano Ronaldo Jr might one day choose to follow in his father's footsteps. It must be a pretty unique set of circumstances to grow up with arguably the greatest male footballer in history as your father, particularly if you also hold ambitions to play the beautiful game one day.Cristiano Jr is the eldest child of the Manchester United superstar, who is regularly touted alongside players like Diego Maradona, Pele and Lionel Messi in the GOAT debate.

Cristiano Jr following in his father's footsteps

As such, the 11-year-old has a pretty good role model in his own home when it comes to forging a career in football if that is indeed what he chooses to do when he grows up.

Obviously, it's impossible to know what career you'll be chasing as an adult when your age is barely two figures, but it seems pretty clear that Cristiano Jr is enjoying his football as a youngster.

In fact, the heir to the Ronaldo throne has been plying his trade in Manchester United's youth teams, following his father over to England having also played in the Juventus academy.

And even before Cristiano Jr was climbing the youth ranks at some of Europe's biggest clubs, there were plenty of videos doing the rounds of him kicking a ball around with his father.

However, the United starlet arguably took his biggest step into the footballing spotlight earlier this month when he represented the Red Devils at the MICFootball.

An international youth tournament where the best academies around the world come together on the Costa Brava, Cristiano Jr was part of the United under-12 side that was competing for glory.

And it didn't take the young Portuguese long to go viral as he scored in the opening 5-0 win over CEF Girones Sabat, before whipping out his father's "SIUUUUU" celebration for good measure.

But Cristiano Jr's valuable contributions didn't end there as he also found the back of the net against FC L'Escala, before eventually coming undone at the hands of Atletico Madrid (sound familiar?).

It was a brilliant showcase of Cristiano Jr's ability as a young footballer with the recorded games giving supporters a unique insight into the talent, skills and quality of the eldest Ronaldo child.

In fact, the young United star's best bits from the tournament have since been stitched together for a highlights package that gives the clearest indication yet about his potential in football.

From quick interchange play to skills that his father would be proud of, Cristiano Jr was clearly enjoying himself at the MICFootball, so be sure to check out his most impressive contributions below:

His father must be very proud of him.

The most important thing: Enjoying football

It's great to see the next generation of the Ronaldo family really enjoying themselves in the red of United and who knows, maybe one day we'll get to see Cristiano Jr playing for the first team itself.

However, as no doubt many of you will know from your own personal experiences, the most important part of football when you're a youngster is making sure that you enjoy it.

Sure, it's only natural that the eldest son of a Ballon d'Or winner playing for United's youth team will receive attention and excitement, but it's simply far too early to tell whether or not he'll ever have a career as a professional.

And really, it actually has nothing to do with Cristiano Jr's talent because what matters most is that he chooses the career that he holds dearest in his own heart when the time comes to make a decision.

For now, it's all about lapping up the joy of the beautiful game and he certainly appears to be doing that.
