Mustafa Ali returned to WWE TV last night, making his first appearance of 2022 on last night's episode of Monday Night Raw.Prior to last night, Ali had not been on WWE TV since last year, where he lost to Drew McIntyre on the October 29 episode of SmackDown.During his time away from WWE, Ali actually asked to leave the company, taking to Twitter to request his release in January, as you can see below.

That request wasn't granted, with reports stating that Vince McMahon "saw value" in Ali and didn't want to lose him.

Fast forward just over three months, and the two parties appear to have worked things out, as Ali is back on TV.

The former Cruiserweight star made a shock return during The Miz's Miz TV segment with United States Champion Theory on the show.

The segment and return spilt over into a match between Ali and The Miz, which Ali won, giving him his first win on Raw since July of last year.

But that wasn't all, as the 36-year-old appeared to start his first feud since being back, after being attacked by Tommaso Ciampa.

The former NXT Champion, who is now just going by Ciampa, attacked Mustafa at the top of the ramp after his big win over The Miz, seemingly starting a feud between the two.

The idea of a feud between Ciampa and Ali has tickled the taste buds of fans, who seem to be rather excited about the prospect of two of WWE's best wrestlers going one-on-one over the next few weeks.

More news is likely to come out in the coming days regarding Ali's return to WWE and what made it happen, so make sure you stay tuned to GiveMeSport over the coming days and weeks for that.
