Tommaso Ciampa became the latest WWE Superstar to undergo a name change on last night's episode of Monday Night Raw.

The former NXT Champion appeared on last night's show, but under a slightly new name.

He's now going by just Ciampa, with WWE having dropped the 'Tommaso' part of his name ahead of the show last night.

Ciampa becomes the latest WWE star to undergo a name change, following Austin Theory, who became just Theory on last week's show.

The same fate has followed the likes of Butch, Gunther, Doudrop, Shotzi and Raquel Rodriguez, who have all undergone name changes over the last few months.

Back to Ciampa, the former NXT star played a significant role on last night's show, turning heel in a segment with a returning Mustafa Ali.

Three months after asking to leave WWE, Ali returned on last night's show, beating The Miz in singles competition.

After celebrating his win, as can be seen below, Ali was laid out by Ciampa, seemingly starting a feud between the two, which you can read more about by clicking here.

This could be set to be a big few months for Ciampa, with reports stating that he could be set to join Edge's new faction.

Damian Priest joined Edge at WrestleMania, but reports have stated that Ciampa and Rhea Ripley could be next to align themselves with the WWE Hall of Famer.

That report was a few weeks ago, and as always in the crazy world of WWE, those plans may have changed.

However, with Ciampa turning heel on last night's show, the door does seem open for him to make the move into Edge's faction over the coming weeks.
