Manchester City and Real Madrid played out a seven-goal thriller in their Champions League semi-final first leg on Tuesday evening.

City emerged 4-3 victors in one of the greatest games in the competition's history.

The Citizens came racing out of the blocks and took the lead after just two minutes played.

Riyad Mahrez cut inside from the right and delivered a pin-point cross to Kevin De Bruyne, who planted his header past Thibaut Courtois.

The Etihad Stadium erupted. And so did Micah Richards.

Richards, who represented the club from 2001-2015, was covering the game as a pundit on CBS Sports.

He couldn't contain his emotions when De Bruyne struck the opener. The problem was he was tucking into his pasta at the time.

Despite enjoying his dinner, Richards let out a scream and nearly spat out his pasta.

Jamie Carragher thought it would be funny to analyse the moment after the game and it made for incredible television.

Watch it below...

Carragher said: "Listen, this has to be analysed. When we talk about some of the technicians we had on the show today: [Toni] Kroos, [Luka] Modric, [Kevin] De Bruyne, [Bernardo] Silva... no one produced a better first-touch and control of a situation than Micah Richards with the pasta.

"Look at this here... He thinks he's lost it, miscontrolled it... but then look at this! Forget Luka Modric, we've got Micah! Big Meeks is back!"

City will go into the second leg in Madrid with the slight advantage.

But Real will be confident that they can pull off a turnaround and reach the final for the first time since 2018.

The second leg, set to take place on May 4, is set to be a cracker.
