England’s Football League is as much a part of the British furniture as the Queen herself.
From the Premier League right down to League 2 and even beyond, each and every fan in the country has a special connection to a football club for one reason or another.
Be it your hometown club, your grandparents team or just the club you were most drawn to at a young age, we all hold at least one very close to our hearts.
Now, obviously (and rightly) we all believe ours to be the best so how could one possibly go about ranking each and every one of the 92 clubs in any sort of way?
Well, one fan on Twitter has given it a go using just a single metric as his system – the club’s stadium.
Starting from the bottom with ‘Tinpot’ and working all the way up to elite, the fan has given his best effort at ranking the clubs. It has, unsurprisingly, caused some controversy.
Fan ranks football league clubs based off their stadiums
No one likes to be called the worst of the wort so it is no surprise that the fans of the following clubs are perhaps the most vocal in the comments section of the tweet.
Forest Green Rovers
While ‘not bad’ is, in and of itself, not bad, it’s still a category nobody wants to see their beloved home stadium in.
Fans of the following clubs might feel a little more comfortable with where they have landed, but you can be sure they’ll still have a few things to say about it.
West Bromwich Albion
Preston North End
West Ham United
Now we’re into the heavy hitters – a weight category that will have fans more than satisfied to see their favourite stadium frequenting.
Time for the apparent cream of the crop.
Now keep in mind that we have very little context as to what criteria went into this ranking but with the likes of St James’ Park and Old Trafford in this class, it’s difficult to argue.
So there you have it – a definitive, although certainly controversial ranking of every club in the football league based purely off of their home stadium.
