The weigh-ins for the Undercard will be taking place on Friday, 29th April 2022 at 4:40 PM ET/1:40 PM ET.
Main Event Weigh-Ins
The Main Event weigh-ins will be taking place during the Max on Boxing Live Weigh-In Show on ESPN2 at 5 PM ET/2 PM PT.
The actual weigh-ins will be taking place at the MGM Grand Garden Arena and will be free to enter and open to the public.
Top Rank Chairman Bob Arum discussed the contest at the beginning of fight week, explaining that this fight is “wonderful” for the sport of boxing.
He said: “When we signed Valdez, we knew he would be a premier fighter. We signed Shakur we knew he would be a superstar and if the weights with Valdez coincided, they would fight each other. We have two great fighters willing to fight each other. This is wonderful for the sport.”
Valdez also discussed the importance of the contest as he looks to become of the best fighters in Mexican boxing history.
He said: “I will be a step closer to accomplishing my dream of being considered one of the best fighters in Mexican boxing history. I want my name to be among all these great Mexican fighters, like Morales, Barrera, Marquez, and Chavez. For that to happen, I need to win this fight.”
