Thiago Alcantara has been in incredible form in recent weeks.

And he was at his brilliant best once again during Liverpool's Champions League semi-final first leg clash against Villarreal.

Thiago controlled the game from start to finish as goals from Pervis Estupiñán (OG) and Sadio Mane saw Liverpool run out 2-0 victors at Anfield.

The former Bayern Munich man was given the Man-of-the-Match award for his masterclass.

He was so good during the game that Jamie Carragher and Micah Richards felt the urge to sing his song while live on CBS Sports.

Liverpool signed Thiago for £25m back in 2020. That fee is proving to look more and more of a bargain as time goes on.

Jordan Henderson spoke to the media after the Villarreal win and he was happy with the victory.

He said, per Liverpoolfc.com: "They’re a very organised team, we knew they’d make it difficult. But it was important we just kept going, stayed positive and we had the confidence that if we did that and kept moving the ball quick we’d eventually break them down. And we did that with two good goals.

"I thought the majority of the game the counter-press was really good, when we lost the ball high up the pitch the reaction to win it back and cause them problems was really good. And I think that made it really difficult for them at times. But you’ve got to give them credit, they’re a good team, hard to break down and the game is still alive. It will be a tough test over at Villarreal."

Liverpool travel to Spain on May 3 for their second leg clash. The Reds have one foot in the final and will be looking to get the job done in style.

Thiago will be integral as Liverpool chase a historic quadruple.
