The UFC has announced that they will be returning to London for the second time this year on July 23.
Throughout the history of the Ultimate Fighting Championship, the United Kingdom has been one of their primary stomping grounds outside of the United States.
The promotion made their long-awaited return to the O2 Arena after three years away back in March and put on a card that many have described as the best European event we’ve ever seen from the UFC.
Now, this summer, they’ll do it all over again with another blockbuster night of fights in the English capital.
“UFC®, the world’s premier mixed martial arts organisation, today announced its return to London on Saturday, July 23, at The O2. UFC returned to the UK for the first time in three years in March for UFC FIGHT NIGHT®: VOLKOV vs. ASPINALL, welcoming a sell-out crowd of over 17,000.
“Following the success of UFC’s return to the UK, the promotion will host its second event in London this year. After this year’s sold-out event, sports fans are encouraged to purchase their tickets early to avoid disappointment. Fans can register their interest in the event via UFC.com/London.
“Tickets will go on general sale Friday, May 27, via AXS and Ticketmaster. Fight Club and O2 priority members can purchase tickets from Wednesday, May 25. Whilst newsletter subscribers and those who register their interest can gain early access to tickets from Thursday, May 26.”
Who will be on the card?
Early reports have suggested that Muhammad Mokaev will take on former LFA star Charles Johnson on July 23, following on from his debut triumph over Cody Durden.
Based on what Dana White said himself during the post-fight press conference, it wouldn’t be at all surprising to see the boss attend the event live.
Get ready, fight fans, because if this card is anything like March then we’re in for a treat.
