Alongside Jurgen Klopp, assistant manager Pep Lijnders has committed his future to Liverpool.

Klopp and his staff - which includes fellow assistant manager Peter Krawietz - have signed a two-year extension to their contracts at Anfield.

While Krawietz's influence on this Liverpool side is a little understated, Lijnders appears to have a growing role to play for the Reds.

He has been seen taking press conferences in Klopp's absence and is often barking instructions from the touchline. So much so that many believe Lijnders is the perfect man to replace Klopp when he eventually leaves.

After signing his new contract extension until 2026, Klopp spoke of his admiration for Lijnders.

“As for Pep, wow. I have been lucky enough to meet many, many people in football during my time in the game and I don’t think I have ever met anyone with the energy and enthusiasm he has for this game.

“I think I have said in the past, there is nothing he does not know about this sport. His passion for it is remarkable and his enthusiasm in training each day is infectious. Since he came back to us in 2018, it has been a privilege to watch him grow and, for sure, he has a long and successful career ahead of him in football."

It was perfect timing, then, that 'The Coaches' Voice' released their latest tactical masterclass involving Lijnders.

And in this latest episode, they got Lijnders to analyse Liverpool's incredible 4-0 victory over Barcelona back in May 2019.

In the Champions League semi-finals, Liverpool trailed Barcelona 3-0 from the first leg at the Camp Nou. But during an incredible night at Anfield, Klopp's side progressed to the final after winning 4-0.

They went on to win the Champions League after beating Tottenham 2-0 in the final.

But how did they manage to beat Barcelona 4-0?

Well, Lijnders have produced a 28-minute masterclass breaking it down brilliantly.

If you want insight into how Liverpool play - and how they orchestrated that incredible comeback against Barcelona - sit back and enjoy:

This season, Liverpool won't be needed an incredible comeback during their Champions League semi-final second leg. Instead, they will be looking to avoid one.

They beat Villarreal 2-0 at Anfield on Wednesday night to put one foot in the final. But if you think Klopp, Lijnders and Krawietz won't be preparing meticulously for the second leg then you're very much mistaken.
