Roy Keane amused fans with a tongue-in-cheek comment about Cristiano Ronaldo being a problem for Manchester United after the 37-year-old forward scored the equaliser against Chelsea on Thursday night.Marcos Alonso broke the deadlock for Chelsea at Old Trafford on the hour-mark but Ronaldo earned a point for the hosts with an excellent finish minutes later.This was the five-time Ballon d’Or winner’s 17th Premier League goal of the campaign. It’s unclear how incoming manager Erik ten Hag plans on using Ronaldo next season - if at all.

But after rescuing another point for United on Thursday evening, Ronaldo’s former teammate Keane scoffed at claims that the legendary No. 7 is a problem.

“He’s such a big problem for United,” Keane said. “Scoring goals week in, week out. It’s not good.”

Keane has such a dry sense of humour that some people on social media thought he was actually being serious.

Keane also said that Ronaldo is “the greatest at the hardest part of the game: putting the ball in the back of the net”.

The Irishman believes Ronaldo could have scored 50 goals this season if he was playing for Chelsea.

Ronaldo’s United contract expires in June 2023, although the club do have the option to extend this by a further year.
