With Vanguard having a rocky launch, COD Modern Warfare 2 is probably the next major launch for the publisher and they would definitely want it to do well. To start hyping up the game, the official Twitter page Call of Duty recently shared the logo and a brief animation for the upcoming Call Of Duty: Modern Warfare 2.

The animated logo shared by the Call of Duty Twitter account weaves the “M” and the “W” and the “II” together, while the hashtag reads the title as Modern Warfare 2. Eagle-eyed fans have already started to spot subtle Easter Eggs in the brief logo teaser.

As pointed out on Twitter by Chaosxsilencer, Modern Warfare’s iconic Task Force 141 logo can be noticed when you slow the animation down. The upcoming Modern Warfare 2 is the fifth major game in COD’s Modern Warfare series and will serve as a sequel to 2019’s Modern Warfare reboot.

A bulk of Modern Warfare 2019’s post-launch story focused around Captain Price creating his iconic task force from the original series.

As of writing this article, no official release date has been shared either and it’s unclear how far the game is into development. Although, it is being speculated that Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 will be released sometime in 2022 itself.

As far as what platforms the game will be available on, well-known leaker Tom Henderson says that Modern Warfare 2 will release on both current and previous-gen consoles, but also warns that this could be the last year we see a cross generation launch.

Whatever the case maybe, players can expect more details and leaks surrounding the upcoming Modern Warfare 2, following this announcement.
