Mohamed Salah was named the Football Writers' Association Men's Footballer of the Year for 2021/22 on Friday morning.

The Egyptian forward has been tremendous for Liverpool this season, scoring 30 goals in 44 games.

Since signing for Liverpool in 2017, he has scored a total of 155 goals in 247 games. He's also provided 61 assists.

His brilliance has helped Liverpool to five trophies, including the Champions League in 2019 and the Premier League in 2020.

More trophies are set to follow with Liverpool's hopes of winning a historic quadruple in 2021/22 still alive.

Salah has been tremendous for the Reds and has already established himself as a club legend.

But where exactly does he rank among the club's greatest players?

Lee was a key cog of the Liverpool sides that won the Champions League in 1981 and 1984. Grobelaar's famous 'spaghetti legs' helped the Reds beat Roma in the shootout in the latter.

Alexander-Arnold is already ranked Liverpool's 32nd best player at 23 years old. He has the talent to finish his Liverpool career as one of their best players ever.

Robertson has just been ranked above his good friend and Liverpool teammate, Alexander-Arnold.

Legends everywhere. Dalglish has been ranked Liverpool's best player ever.

The Scotsman played 512 times for the club, scoring 172 times and helping the club win 20 trophies.

Gerrard comes in second. Many would consider the all-action midfielder as the club's greatest player.

While Salah comes in at third. If he continues the way he's going and extends his stay at the club, he could well finish his Liverpool career as their greatest ever player.

Suarez just misses out on the top three. The Uruguayan only played four seasons at Liverpool but he was unplayable for large periods of his stay.

Van Dijk also makes the top seven. In total, there are nine current Liverpool players that make the top 50. That just goes to show how good Jurgen Klopp's side is.
