Chelsea will be mighty disappointed that they didn't pick up three points at Old Trafford on Thursday evening.

Thomas Tuchel's side played Manchester United off the park for the majority of the game and should have scored more goals.

But poor finishing ultimately cost them, with Cristiano Ronaldo superbly cancelling out Marcos Alonso's opener in the second half.

There were plenty of positives for Chelsea to take from the match, though, most notably the performance of Reece James.

The England international was deployed in his favoured position at right-wing back and he absolutely ran the show.

James was everywhere. He nullified the threat of Marcus Rashford with ease and was the most dangerous player on the pitch in forward areas.

The Chelsea academy product also came agonisingly close to winning the match, but his marvellous first-time shot late on cannoned off the post and wide.

That would have been the icing on the cake, but the fact remains that James dropped a masterclass at the Theatre of Dreams.

As such, his individual highlights are insanely good and they show just how much Alex Telles struggled against the Blues starlet.

Not bad, eh? United legend Roy Keane couldn't speak highly enough of James in the Sky Sports studio after the match.

"What a player Reece James is," he said. "He looks like a boxer. His distribution, movement, strength.

“He seems like a nice kid too. He's a clever lad, could play in any position. Chelsea are a lucky club to have him. Outstanding."

Whisper it quietly, but England might just have the two best right-backs in world football right now.

What James and Liverpool's Trent Alexander-Arnold are doing out on the pitch is simply not normal for a full-back.

They're regularly running games from the position, which is something that would have sounded completely alien to a football fan in the 20th century and early parts of the 21st.

James' latest masterclass and Alexander-Arnold's consistent world-class form begs the question; who starts for England at the 2022 World Cup?

Alexander-Arnold's numbers cannot be ignored, but there's an argument to be made that James is the more complete player.

Good luck picking just one of them, Gareth Southgate...
