Modern football well and truly peaked when Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo were in La Liga.
While at Barcelona and Real Madrid, the two superstars absolutely dominated the Spanish top-flight and it was just incredible to watch.
Pretty much every single week, one or both were on the scoresheet and in 2011/12, they produced numbers that are normally only ever achieved on FIFA.
Messi finished that campaign with 50 league goals to his name, while Ronaldo was close behind in the Pichichi standings with 46 goals.
Those stats are otherworldly and after digesting them, it'll come as no shock to learn that they both rank very highly in our list featuring the best minutes-per-goal records since the start of 1999/2000.
Just so you're aware, only stats from one of Europe's top five leagues count for a spot on the list, which means a player can feature twice.

Ronaldo's record in La Liga is comfortably the best and the fact he also takes seventh spot on the list after his goalscoring antics in Serie A with Juventus is quite remarkable.
Falcao is the other player to join the Manchester United forward in making the cut twice, a stern reminder that the Colombian is an all-time great.
